One of our men was fasting while we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on one of his military expeditions. He then mentioned the same meaning, saying, "Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ called for a cup, raised it up with his hands, and drank from it so that the people could see that he was not fasting."

صام رجل منا ونحن مع رسول الله ﷺ في بعض مغازيه فذكر معناه قال ثم دعا رسول الله ﷺ بقدح فرفعه على يديه فشرب ليرى الناس أنه ليس بصائم
