The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came in upon Umm Salama. Ibn Abu Ghaniyya said, "He came in upon Ayesha," with a young boy whose nostrils were dripping with blood. Abu Muawiya said in his version, "And there was with her a young boy whose nostrils were gushing blood."He asked, "What is wrong with this child?"They replied, "He is suffering from udhra."He said, "Why do you torment your children? It is enough for one of you to take Indian costus, grind it with water seven times, then pour it into his mouth." Ibn Abu Ghaniyya said, "Then administer it through his nose."So they did, and he recovered.
Its isnad is sahih. Ibn Abu Ghaniya is Yahya bin Abdul-Malik bin Abu Ghaniya, and they have deemed him trustworthy. In the printed edition, "Ibn Abu Utba" occurs, which is an error. And in Tahzib Kamal, "Ibn Abu Uyayna" occurs. Haythami also graded the hadith sahih, 5/89, and said, "Its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih." It was also narrated by Ibn Abu Shayba, 7/367, number 3488, in the Book of Medicine, chapter on what remedies are permitted. And by Hakim, 4/205, who graded it sahih, and Dhahabi agreed with him.
