A trade caravan arrived in Madinah while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was delivering the sermon. The people rushed out, and only twelve remained. Then this verse was revealed, "And when they see a transaction or amusement, they rush off to it" [Jumuah 62:11].
حدثنا ابن إدريس عن حصين عن سالم بن أبي الجعد
قدمت عير مرة المدينة ورسول الله ﷺ يخطب فخرج الناس وبقي اثنا عشر فنزلت {وإذا رأوا تجارة أو لهوا انفضوا إليها}
Its isnad is sahih. Bukhari narrated the hadith, 8/643, no. 4899, in Fath al-Bari, in the tafsir, "And when they saw merchandise," and Muslim, 2/590, no. 863, in the chapter on Friday, on His saying, "And when they saw merchandise" [Jumuah 62:11], and Tirmidhi, 5/414, no. 3311, who said, hasan sahih, and Bayhaqi, 3/182, all of them from Jabir.
