Jabir bin Abdullah reported,

Jabir reported, I came in to see the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he said to me, "Jabir, if some wealth comes to us, I will scoop out a handful for you, then another handful." But the Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed away before he could fulfill that promise to me.So I went to Abu Bakr and told him about it.Abu Bakr said, "And we say the same. If something comes our way, I will scoop out a handful for you, then another, then another."Later, some wealth came to him, and he scooped out a handful for me, then another, then another. Then he said, "There is no obligatory charity due on this until a full year passes."I weighed it, and it came to one thousand five hundred.

حدثنا نصر بن باب عن حجاج عن أبي الزبير

عن جابر بن عبد الله الأنصاري رضي الله عنهما أنه قال

دخلت على رسول الله ﷺ فقال لي يا جابر لو قد جاءنا مال لحثيت لك ثم حثيت لك قال فقبض رسول الله ﷺ قبل أن ينجز لي تلك العدة فأتيت أبا بكر رضي الله عنه فحدثته فقال أبو بكر ونحن لو قد جاءنا شيء لحثيت لك ثم حثيت لك ثم حثيت لك قال فأتاه مال فحثى لي حثية ثم حثية ثم قال ليس عليك فيها صدقة حتى يحول الحول قال فوزنتها فكانت ألفا وخمس مائة
