When the verse was revealed, "He is the One able to send punishment upon you from above you" [Anam 6:65], the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I seek refuge in Your Face."When "or from beneath your feet" [Anam 6:65] was revealed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I seek refuge in Your Face."When "or to confuse you into factions and make you taste the violence of one another" [Anam 6:65] was revealed, he said, "This one is lighter and easier."
حدثنا سفيان عن عمرو سمع
لما نزلت {هو القادر على أن يبعث عليكم عذابا من فوقكم} قال رسول الله ﷺ أعوذ بوجهك فلما نزلت {أو من تحت أرجلكم} قال رسول الله ﷺ أعوذ بوجهك فلما نزلت {أو يلبسكم شيعا ويذيق بعضكم بأس بعض} قال هذه أهون وأيسر
