On the day of Hudaybiyyah we numbered fourteen hundred, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to us, "You are today the best people on earth."
حدثنا سفيان عن عمرو سمعت
كنا يوم الحديبية ألفا وأربع مائة فقال لنا رسول الله ﷺ أنتم اليوم خير أهل الأرض
Its isnad is sahih. It is found in Muslim 3/1484, no. 1856 (the duplicate 71), where Jabir added, "If I could see, I would show you the location of the tree." It is also found in Shafii 217, and Humaydi 2/514, no. 1225.
