The Messenger of Allah ﷺ and his companions entered the state of ihram for Hajj, and on that day none of them had brought a sacrificial animal except the Prophet ﷺ and Talha. Ali had arrived from Yemen bringing his sacrificial animal with him, and he said, "I have entered ihram for the same as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered ihram for."The Prophet ﷺ ordered his companions to make their pilgrimage into an Umrah, to perform tawaf, then shorten their hair and exit the state of ihram, except for those who had brought sacrificial animals. They said, "Shall we set out for Mina with our private parts dripping?"This reached the Prophet ﷺ, and he said, "Had I known beforehand what I now know, I would not have brought the sacrificial animal. Were it not that I have brought the sacrificial animal with me, I would have exited ihram."Ayesha began menstruating, so she performed all the rites of pilgrimage except that she did not perform tawaf around the House. When she became pure, she performed tawaf. She said, "Messenger of Allah, are you all departing having completed both Hajj and Umrah, while I depart with only Hajj?"So he ordered Abdul-Rahman to go out with her to Tanim, and she performed Umrah after the Hajj in the month of Dhul-Hijjah.Suraqa bin Malik bin Jusham met the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at Aqaba while he was throwing pebbles there and asked, "Is this practice exclusive to you, Messenger of Allah?"He replied, "No, rather it is forever."
