The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever revives dead land earns a reward from it, and whatever the wandering creatures eat from it counts as charity on his behalf."
حدثنا عباد بن عباد المهلبي عن هشام بن عروة عن وهب بن كيسان
قال رسول الله ﷺ من أحيا أرضا ميتة فله منها يعني أجرا وما أكلت العوافي منها فهو له صدقة
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Tirmidhi narrated the hadith through another route, 3/662, no. 1378, in the Book of Rulings, chapter on what has been mentioned regarding the revival of dead land, and he said, hasan gharib. Bayhaqi also narrated it, 6/148.
