I came to the Prophet ﷺ seeking his help with a debt my father owed.He said, "I will come to you."So I returned home and said to my wife, "Do not speak to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and do not ask him for anything."He came to us, and we slaughtered for him a domestic animal we had.He said, "Jabir, it seems you knew how much we love meat."When he was leaving, my wife said to him, "Pray for me and for my husband," or she said, "Pray for us."He said, "O Allah, bless them."I said to her, "Did I not forbid you?"She replied, "Would you have the Messenger of Allah ﷺ enter our home and not supplicate for us?"
حدثنا وكيع عن سفيان عن الأسود بن قيس عن نبيح
أتيت النبي ﷺ أستعينه في دين كان على أبي قال فقال آتيكم قال فرجعت فقلت للمرأة لا تكلمي رسول الله ﷺ ولا تسأليه قال فأتانا فذبحنا له داجنا كان لنا فقال يا جابر كأنكم عرفتم حبنا اللحم قال فلما خرج قالت له المرأة صل علي وعلى زوجي أو صل علينا قال فقال اللهم صل عليهم قال فقلت لها أليس قد نهيتك قالت ترى رسول الله ﷺ كان يدخل علينا ولا يدعو لنا

Its chain of transmission is sahih. It has been reported many times that when the Prophet ﷺ prayed for a household, he would say, "O Allah, send blessings upon them," and when charity came to him from some people, he would say, "O Allah, send blessings upon them." Bukhari reported it, 5/159, and Muslim, 2/756, no. 1078, in the chapter on zakat, on supplicating for one who brings charity.
