I asked permission to enter upon the Prophet ﷺ. He asked, "Who is it?"I replied, "It is me."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Me, me?"Muhammad commented that it seemed he disliked the response "me."

Its isnad is sahih, and it is found in Bukhari 11/35, no. 6250 of Fath al-Bari, in the chapter on seeking permission, "If he says, 'Who is that?' and he replies, 'It is I.'"
