His father, Hanzala bin Naeem, came as part of a delegation to Umar. Whenever someone from the delegation passed by Umar, he would ask him what tribe he was from, until Ubayy passed by him and Umar asked him, "What tribe are you from?"He replied, "From Anazah."Umar said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'A tribe from over there, wronged yet granted victory.'"
حدثنا أبو سعيد مولى بني هاشم حدثنا المثنى بن عوف العنزي بصري قال
أن أباه حنظلة بن نعيم وفد إلى عمر فكان عمر إذا مر به إنسان من الوفد سأله ممن هو حتى مر به أبي فسأله ممن أنت فقال من عنزة فقال سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول حي من هاهنا مبغي عليهم منصورون
