The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about a man who had a wife and divorced her three times, after which she married another man who divorced her before consummating the marriage. Was she then permitted to her first husband? The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "No, not until the second husband has tasted her sweetness and she has tasted his."
Its chain is hasan because of Muhammad bin Dinar Azdi, who had weak memory, and his hadith is only graded hasan because he is corroborated. As for Yahya bin Yazid Hinai, they have graded him trustworthy, and he has a narration in Muslim. The hadith is found in Bukhari 9/362, no. 5261 (Fath), in the book of Divorce, chapter on those who permitted a triple divorce, and in Nasai 6/148, no. 3411, similarly, and in Ibn Abu Shayba 4/274, in the book of Marriage, chapter on a man divorcing his wife three times. It will come again with the full story.
