I was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in his house when a man came and said, "Messenger of Allah, when is the Hour?"He replied, "It is certainly coming. What have you prepared for it?"The man said, "By Allah, Messenger of Allah, I have not prepared much in the way of deeds, except that I love Allah and His Messenger."He said, "You will be with those you love, and you shall have what you have hoped for."Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood to pray. When he finished his prayer, he said, "Where is the one who asked about the Hour?"The man was brought forward. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ looked toward the house, and there was a young boy from Daws, from the clan of Abu Hurairah, called Saad bin Malik. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If this boy lives a long life, he will not reach old age before the Hour is established."Hasan said, Anas informed me that the boy on that day was among my contemporaries.
حدثنا عفان حدثنا مبارك بن فضالة حدثنا الحسن أخبرني
كنت عند رسول الله ﷺ في بيته فجاء رجل فقال يا رسول الله متى الساعة قال أما إنها قائمة فما أعددت لها قال والله يا رسول الله ما أعددت لها من كثير عمل غير أني أحب الله ورسوله قال فإنك مع من أحببت ولك ما احتسبت قال ثم قام رسول الله ﷺ يصلي فلما قضى صلاته قال أين السائل عن الساعة فأتي بالرجل فنظر رسول الله ﷺ إلى البيت فإذا غلام من دوس من رهط أبي هريرة يقال له سعد بن مالك فقال رسول الله ﷺ هذا الغلام إن طال به عمر لم يبلغ به الهرم حتى تقوم الساعة قال الحسن وأخبرني أنس أن الغلام كان يومئذ من أقراني
