Musa bin Talha reported,

I was walking with the Prophet ﷺ through the palm groves of Medina when he saw some people atop the palm trees pollinating them.He asked, "What are these people doing?"Someone replied, "They are taking pollen from the male tree and placing it into the female tree to pollinate it."The Prophet ﷺ said, "I do not think this accomplishes anything."Word of this reached them, so they abandoned the practice and came down from the trees. That year the trees bore no fruit.When this news reached the Prophet ﷺ, he said, "It was merely an opinion I held. If it benefits you, then do it, for I am only a human being like you, and opinion can be wrong or right. But whatever I tell you that Allah has said, I will never lie about Allah."

حدثنا عبد الرزاق أنبأنا إسرائيل عن سماك أنه سمع

موسى بن طلحة يحدث عن أبيه قال

مررت مع النبي ﷺ في نخل المدينة فرأى أقواما في رءوس النخل يلقحون النخل فقال ما يصنع هؤلاء قال يأخذون من الذكر فيحطون في الأنثى يلقحون به فقال ما أظن ذلك يغني شيئا فبلغهم فتركوه ونزلوا عنها فلم تحمل تلك السنة شيئا فبلغ ذلك النبي ﷺ فقال إنما هو ظن ظننته إن كان يغني شيئا فاصنعوا فإنما أنا بشر مثلكم والظن يخطئ ويصيب ولكن ما قلت لكم قال الله عز وجل فلن أكذب على الله
