A man was suspected of having an illicit relationship with a woman, so the Prophet ﷺ sent Ali to kill him. Ali found him in a well, cooling himself. Ali said to him, "Give me your hand."He gave him his hand, and Ali discovered that he was castrated, having no male organ. Ali came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and informed him, saying, "By Allah, Messenger of Allah, he is castrated. He has no male organ."

Its chain of transmission is sahih. Muslim narrated the hadith with a similar wording (4/2139, no. 2771) in the chapter on repentance, regarding the disavowal by the Prophet ﷺ of Barirah, and Hakim narrated something similar (4/40) in the chapter on knowledge of the companions. Al-Rakiyyah means the well.
