I prayed behind the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and behind Abu Bakr and Umar and Uthman, may Allah be pleased with them, and they would not begin the recitation with "In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful".Shuba said, I asked Qatada, "Did you hear this from Anas?"He replied, "Yes, we asked him about it ourselves."

صليت خلف رسول الله ﷺ وخلف أبي بكر وعمر وعثمان رضي الله تعالى عنهم فلم يكونوا يستفتحون القراءة ب {بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم} قال شعبة فقلت لقتادة أسمعته من أنس قال نعم نحن سألناه عنه
