The Messenger of Allah ﷺ gathered the Ansar and asked, "Is there anyone among you from another tribe?"They said, "No, except the son of our sister."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The sister's son of a people is one of them." Hajjaj said, "He is from among them."Then he said, "The Quraysh have only recently emerged from the days of ignorance and have suffered hardship, and I wanted to compensate them and win their hearts. Are you not pleased that the people return with worldly gains while you return to your homes with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ? If the people were to take one valley and the Ansar took another path, I would take the path of the Ansar."
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا شعبة وحجاج قال حدثني شعبة قال سمعت قتادة يحدث
جمع رسول الله ﷺ الأنصار فقال أفيكم أحد من غيركم فقالوا لا إلا ابن أخت لنا فقال رسول الله ﷺ ابن أخت القوم منهم قال حجاج من أنفسهم فقال إن قريشا حديث عهد بجاهلية ومصيبة وإني أردت أن أجيزهم وأتألفهم أما ترضون أن يرجع الناس بالدنيا وترجعون برسول الله ﷺ إلى بيوتكم لو سلك الناس واديا وسلكت الأنصار شعبا لسلكت شعب الأنصار
