Abdul-Rahman bin Awf married a woman from the Ansar for a dowry equal in weight to a date stone of gold, and this was deemed acceptable. He said, Hakam used to follow this practice.

تزوج عبد الرحمن بن عوف امرأة من الأنصار على وزن نواة من ذهب، فجاز ذلك، قال: وكان الحكم يأخذ بهذا.
