Its isnad is sahih. Bukhari related the hadith at 8/55 and [10/582, no. 6203, Fath], in the chapter on manners, on naming a boy before he is born, at length. Also Muslim at 4/1804, in the chapter on virtues, on the Messenger of Allah ﷺ being the best of people in character, Abu Dawud at 4774, Ibn Abu Asim in Sunnah 1/156, no. 352, and Bayhaqi at 3/66.
