Umm Sulaym sent him with a tray of fresh dates to the Prophet ﷺ. He said that the Prophet took a handful and sent it to one of his wives, and he did this either twice or three times. Then he ate them with the appetite of a man who clearly had a craving for them.
حدثنا عفان حدثنا همام حدثنا قتادة
أن أم سليم بعثت معه بقناع فيه رطب إلى النبي ﷺ قال فقبض قبضة فبعث بها إلى بعض أزواجه وذكره إما مرتين أو ثلاثا ثم أكل أكل رجل يعرف أنه يشتهيه
