The Messenger of Allah ﷺ never dyed his hair. The whiteness in the front of his beard, in the area below the lower lip, was slight, and on his head there were only a few scattered white hairs that could hardly be seen. Muthanna added, "and at the temples."My father said, Ali bin Ishaq narrated this to us, saying Abdullah informed us, saying Muthanna informed us from Qatada, and he mentioned the like of it.
Its isnad is sahih. Musa bin Dawud narrated to us, Zuhayr, has been dropped from the printed edition, and the second route is also sahih. The hadith was reported in similar wording in 6/564, no. 3545, Fath, in the book of Manaqib, the description of the Prophet ﷺ.
