Whenever we wished to see the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying, we would see him praying, and whenever we wished to see him sleeping, we would see him sleeping. He would fast so much during a month that we would say he does not intend to break his fast at all that month, and he would go without fasting so much during a month that we would say he does not intend to fast at all that month.

ما كنا نشاء أن نرى رسول الله ﷺ مصليا إلا رأيناه أو نائما إلا رأيناه قال وكان يصوم من الشهر حتى نقول لا نراه يريد أن يفطر منه شيئا ويفطر من الشهر حتى نقول لا نراه يريد أن يصوم منه شيئا
