The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was pleased by good dreams. He would sometimes ask, "Has any of you seen a dream?" When a man whom the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not know recounted a dream, he would inquire about him, and if the man was of good character, the dream pleased him even more.A woman came to him and said, "Messenger of Allah, I dreamt that I entered Paradise and heard a tremor that made Paradise shake. Then so-and-so son of so-and-so, and so-and-so son of so-and-so were named, until she counted twelve men. They were brought wearing dusty garments, with blood gushing from their veins. It was said, 'Take them to the river of Baydakh,' or 'Baydah.' They were dipped in it and came out with faces like the moon on the night of the full moon. Then thrones of gold were brought, and they sat upon them. A platter was brought, and they ate from it. They did not turn it to any side without eating whatever fruit they desired."Then the bearer of news arrived from that expedition and said, "Our affair was such and such, and so-and-so and so-and-so were killed," until he counted twelve men, the very ones the woman had counted.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Bring the woman to me. Recount your dream to this man." She recounted it, and he said, "It is just as she said."
حدثنا عفان حدثنا سليمان عن ثابت
كان رسول الله ﷺ يعجبه الرؤيا الحسنة وربما قال رأى أحد منكم رؤيا فإذا رأى الرؤيا الرجل الذي لا يعرفه رسول الله ﷺ سأل عنه فإن كان ليس به بأس كان أعجب لرؤياه إليه فجاءت إليه امرأة فقالت يا رسول الله رأيت كأني دخلت الجنة فسمعت وجبة ارتجت لها الجنة فلان بن فلان وفلان بن فلان حتى عدت اثني عشر رجلا فجيء بهم عليهم ثياب طلس تشخب أوداجهم دما فقيل اذهبوا بهم إلى نهر البيدخ أو البيدح فغمسوا فيه فخرجوا منه وجوههم مثل القمر ليلة البدر ثم أتوا بكراسي من ذهب فقعدوا عليها وأتوا بصحفة فأكلوا منها فما يقلبونها لشق إلا أكلوا فاكهة ما أرادوا وجاء البشير من تلك السرية فقال كان من أمرنا كذا وكذا وأصيب فلان وفلان حتى عد اثني عشر رجلا الذين عدت المرأة فقال رسول الله ﷺ علي بالمرأة قصي على هذا رؤياك فقصت فقال هو كما قالت
