The people were struck by a year of drought during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. While the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was delivering the Friday sermon, an Arabi stood up and said, "Messenger of Allah, our wealth is destroyed and our families are hungry. Pray to Allah to give us rain."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ raised his hands, and there was not a single qaza to be seen in the sky. Then clouds rose up like mountains, and before he stepped down from his pulpit we could see the rain trickling down his beard. And he mentioned the rest of the hadith.
حدثنا علي بن إسحاق أخبرنا عبد الله أخبرنا الأوزاعي قال حدثني إسحاق بن عبد الله بن أبي طلحة الأنصاري قال
أصاب الناس سنة على عهد رسول الله ﷺ قال فبينا رسول الله ﷺ يخطب يوم الجمعة قام أعرابي فقال يا رسول الله هلك المال وجاع العيال فادع الله أن يسقينا فرفع رسول الله ﷺ يديه وما ترى في السماء قزعة فثار سحاب أمثال الجبال ثم لم ينزل عن منبره حتى رأينا المطر يتحادر على لحيته فذكر الحديث
