The king of the Romans sent the Messenger of Allah ﷺ a gift of a silk brocade robe. It is as though I can still see its sleeves dangling down because of their length. The people began touching it and saying, "Messenger of Allah, was this sent down to you from heaven?"He replied, "Why are you so impressed by it? By the One in whose hand is my soul, a single handkerchief from the handkerchiefs of Saad bin Muaz in Paradise is better than this."Then he sent it to Jafar, who put it on and came to him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I did not send it to you for you to wear."Jafar asked, "Then what should I do with it?"He said, "Send it to your brother the Negus."

أن ملك الروم أهدى إلى رسول الله ﷺ مستقة من سندس فكأني أنظر إلى يديها تذبذبان من طولهما فجعل القوم يلتمسونها ويقولون أنزلت عليك يا رسول الله هذه من السماء قال وما يعجبكم منها والذي نفسي بيده لمنديل من مناديل سعد بن معاذ في الجنة خير من هذه ثم بعث بها إلى جعفر قال فلبسها جعفر ثم جاء فقال رسول الله ﷺ إني لم أبعث بها إليك لتلبسها قال فما أصنع بها قال ابعث بها إلى أخيك النجاشي
