Anas bin Malik reported,

When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ arrived in Madinah, the people had two days on which they engaged in festivities. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, "What are these two days?"They replied, "We used to celebrate on these days during the days of ignorance."He said, "Allah has replaced them for you with two better days, the day of Fitr and the day of Sacrifice."

حدثنا عفان حدثنا حماد أخبرنا حميد قال سمعت

أنس بن مالك قال

قدم رسول الله ﷺ المدينة ولهم يومان يلعبون فيهما فقال رسول الله ﷺ ما هذان اليومان قالوا كنا نلعب فيهما في الجاهلية قال إن الله عز وجل قد أبدلكم بهما خيرا منهما يوم الفطر ويوم النحر
