The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade three things: visiting graves, eating the meat of sacrificial animals beyond three days, and these intoxicating drinks made in certain vessels.Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ later said, "I had forbidden you from three things. I forbade you from visiting graves, but it has now occurred to me that visiting them softens the heart and brings tears to the eye, so visit them, but do not utter improper words. I forbade you from eating the meat of sacrificial animals beyond three days, but it has now occurred to me that people use it as a side dish with their bread, present it to their guests, and set some aside for those absent, so eat and store as much as you wish. And I forbade you from these vessels, but now drink from whichever vessels you wish, provided one does not drink anything sinful."

نهى رسول الله ﷺ عن ثلاث عن زيارة القبور وعن لحوم الأضاحي فوق ثلاث وعن هذه الأنبذة في الأوعية قال ثم قال رسول الله ﷺ بعد ذلك ألا إني كنت نهيتكم عن ثلاث نهيتكم عن زيارة القبور ثم بدا لي أنها ترق القلوب وتدمع العين فزوروها ولا تقولوا هجرا ونهيتكم عن لحوم الأضاحي فوق ثلاث ثم بدا لي أن الناس يبتغون أدمهم ويتحفون ضيفهم ويرفعون لغائبهم فكلوا وأمسكوا ما شئتم ونهيتكم عن هذه الأوعية فاشربوا فيما شئتم من شاء أو كأن سقاءه على إثم
