Anas bin Malik reported,
A man said to the Prophet ﷺ, "Our master and son of our master, our best and son of our best."The Prophet ﷺ replied, "People, hold to your normal speech and do not let Satan lead you astray. I am Muhammad bin Abdullah, the servant of Allah and His Messenger. By Allah, I do not wish you to raise me above the station to which Allah has raised me."

أن رجلا قال للنبي ﷺ يا سيدنا وابن سيدنا ويا خيرنا وابن خيرنا فقال النبي ﷺ يا أيها الناس قولوا بقولكم ولا يستهوينكم الشيطان أنا محمد بن عبد الله ورسول الله والله ما أحب أن ترفعوني فوق ما رفعني الله عز وجل
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Its wording is found in Abdul-Razzaq 11/272, no. 20522, in the section on knowledge, on praise, and in Ibn Hibban 14/133, no. 6239, in the arrangement of Ibn Balban, in the section on history, on the beginning of creation. It is also found in Bayhaqi's Dalail, 5/318, and in Abu Naeem's Hilyah, 6/252.
