Abu Haya reported,

I saw Ali perform ablution. He washed his hands thoroughly, then washed his face three times and his forearms three times, wiped his head, and then washed his feet up to the ankles. He then stood up and drank what remained of his ablution water, and said, "I only wanted to show you the manner in which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ purified himself."

عن أبي حية قال

رأيت عليا رضي الله عنه توضأ فأنقى كفيه ثم غسل وجهه ثلاثا وذراعيه ثلاثا ومسح برأسه ثم غسل قدميه إلى الكعبين ثم قام فشرب فضل وضوئه ثم قال إنما أردت أن أريكم طهور رسول الله ﷺ
