A group from the tribes of Ukl and Urayna came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Messenger of Allah, we were a people of livestock and not of cultivated land, and we have found Medina unhealthy for us."So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered that some camels and a shepherd be provided for them, and he instructed them to go out with the camels and drink from their milk and urine. They set out, but when they reached the area of al-Harra, they killed the shepherd of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, drove off the camels, and apostatized after having accepted Islam. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent men in pursuit of them, and they were brought back. He cut off their hands and feet, branded their eyes with hot nails, and left them in the area of al-Harra in that condition until they died.Qatada said, "It was mentioned to us that this verse was revealed concerning them."
