Zaynab bint Jahsh used to boast over the wives of the Prophet ﷺ, saying, "Allah gave me in marriage from above the heavens."On the day of her wedding, bread and meat were served. The guests remained seated in the house as they were, then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ got up and went out. He stayed away as long as Allah willed, then returned, and the guests were still sitting as they had been. This troubled him, and the displeasure showed on his face. Then the verse of the veil was revealed.
Its chain is hasan, because of Muhammad bin Abdullah and Isa bin Tahman. Haythami said in 7/91, Tabarani narrated it through several routes, some of whose narrators are narrators of sahih, but he did not point this out. However, the imams narrated it with different wording in the tafsir of the verse of hijab, "Do not enter the houses of the Prophet" [Ahzab 33:53].
