The Ansar came to the Prophet ﷺ as a group and said, "How long must we keep drawing water from these wells? Why don't we go to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ so he may pray to Allah for us, that He cause springs to burst forth for us from these mountains?"So they came as a group to the Prophet ﷺ, and when he saw them he said, "Welcome. Some need has brought you to us."They replied, "Yes indeed, by Allah, Messenger of Allah."He said, "You will not ask me for anything today except that you will be given it, nor will I ask Allah for anything except that He will grant it to me."They turned to one another and said, "It is the worldly life you want. Ask instead for the Hereafter."So they said all together, "Messenger of Allah, pray to Allah for us that He forgive us."He said, "O Allah, forgive the Ansar, the children of the Ansar, and the children of the children of the Ansar."They said, "Messenger of Allah, what about our children from other than us?"He said, "And the children of the Ansar."They said, "Messenger of Allah, what about our freed slaves?"He said, "And the freed slaves of the Ansar."
حدثنا أبو سعيد حدثنا شداد أبو طلحة
أتت الأنصار النبي ﷺ بجماعتهم فقالوا إلى متى ننزع من هذه الآبار فلو أتينا رسول الله ﷺ فدعا الله لنا ففجر لنا من هذه الجبال عيونا فجاءوا بجماعتهم إلى النبي ﷺ فلما رآهم قال مرحبا وأهلا لقد جاء بكم إلينا حاجة قالوا إي والله يا رسول الله فقال إنكم لن تسألوني اليوم شيئا إلا أوتيتموه ولا أسأل الله شيئا إلا أعطانيه فأقبل بعضهم على بعض فقالوا الدنيا تريدون فاطلبوا الآخرة فقالوا بجماعتهم يا رسول الله ادع الله لنا أن يغفر لنا فقال اللهم اغفر للأنصار ولأبناء الأنصار ولأبناء أبناء الأنصار قالوا يا رسول الله وأولادنا من غيرنا قال وأولاد الأنصار قالوا يا رسول الله وموالينا قال وموالي الأنصار
