The Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to him one night during Ramadan, and he prayed with them, keeping the prayer brief. Then he went inside and prolonged the prayer. He came out again and led them in prayer, then went back inside and prolonged the prayer. He did this several times.In the morning they said, "Messenger of Allah, we came to you and you did such and such."He replied, "I did that for your sake."
حدثنا عبد الصمد حدثنا حماد حدثنا ثمامة
أن أصحاب رسول الله ﷺ أتوه ليلة في رمضان وصلى لهم فخفف ثم دخل فأطال الصلاة ثم خرج فصلى بهم ثم دخل فأطال الصلاة ففعل ذلك مرارا فلما أصبح قالوا يا رسول الله أتيناك ففعلت كذا وكذا فقال من أجلكم فعلت ذلك
