The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The best among you are those who learn the Quran and teach it."
Its isnad is daif, due to the weakness of Abdul-Rahman bin Ishaq, as mentioned before at 965.Abdul-Rahman bin Ziyad Abdi is trustworthy and reliable.Numan bin Saad Ansari is a follower (tabii) from whom no one narrated except his sister's son Abdul-Rahman bin Ishaq, as Bukhari stated in al-Kabir 4/2/78, and as was quoted in al-Tahdhib from Abu Hatim. The hadith was narrated by Tirmidhi 4:530 from Qutayba from Abdul-Wahid bin Ziyad, and he then said, "This hadith we do not know from the narration of Ali from the Prophet ﷺ except through the narration of Abdul-Rahman bin Ishaq."Suyuti made an error in al-Jami al-Saghir 4111, attributing it to Bukhari, while the original hadith is sahih from the narration of Uthman, as mentioned before at 405, 412, 413, 500. We had noted at 405 that Suyuti did not attribute it to Bukhari, so it appears to me that he intended to attribute the hadith of Uthman to Bukhari, but erred and instead attributed to him the hadith of Ali.
