A young man from the Ansar said, "Messenger of Allah, I wish to go out for jihad but I have no means to equip myself."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Go to so-and-so the Ansari, for he had equipped himself but then fell ill. Tell him that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sends you greetings of peace and says to you, 'Hand over to me what you had prepared for the campaign.'"The young man went and conveyed this to him.The man said, "So-and-so, hand over to him what you had prepared for me, and do not hold back anything from him. By Allah, if you hold back anything from him, Allah will not bless it for you."Affan said, "A young man from Aslam."
حدثنا روح وعفان المعنى قالا حدثنا حماد عن ثابت
أن فتى من الأنصار قال يا رسول الله إني أريد الجهاد وليس لي مال أتجهز به فقال اذهب إلى فلان الأنصاري فإنه قد كان تجهز ومرض فقل إن رسول الله ﷺ يقرئك السلام ويقول لك ادفع إلي ما تجهزت به فقال له ذلك فقال يا فلانة ادفعي إليه ما جهزتني به ولا تحبسي عنه شيئا فإنك والله إن حبست عنه شيئا لا يبارك الله لك فيه قال عفان إن فتى من أسلم
