The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out one cold morning while the Muhajirun were digging the trench. Anas said, "They had no servants to assist them."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Allah, the true good is the good of the Hereafter, so forgive the Ansar and the Muhajirah."They answered him, saying, "We are the ones who pledged allegiance to Muhammad to strive in jihad as long as we live. We will never flee, never flee, never flee."

خرج رسول الله ﷺ والمهاجرون يحفرون الخندق في غداة باردة قال أنس ولم يكن لهم خدم فقال رسول الله ﷺ اللهم إنما الخير خير الآخره فاغفر للأنصار والمهاجره قال فأجابوه نحن الذين بايعوا محمدا على الجهاد ما بقينا أبدا ولا نفر ولا نفر ولا نفر
