Some dates were gifted to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he began distributing them from a single basket, with me serving as his messenger to deliver them, until he had finished. Then he started eating, squatting on his haunches, eating ravenously, and I could tell from the way he ate that he was hungry.
حدثنا محمد بن الحسن الواسطي وهو المزني قال حدثني مصعب بن سليم
أهدي لرسول الله ﷺ تمر فجعل يقسمه بمكتل واحد وأنا رسوله به حتى فرغ منه قال فجعل يأكل وهو مقع أكلا ذريعا فعرفت في أكله الجوع
