Anas bin Malik reported,

The Prophet ﷺ passed by a palm grove belonging to the Banu Najjar and heard a sound. He asked, "What is this?"They replied, "It is the grave of a man buried in the time of ignorance."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said, "Were it not that you would cease to bury one another, I would ask Allah to make you hear the punishment of the grave."

أن النبي ﷺ مر بنخل لبني النجار فسمع صوتا فقال ما هذا قالوا قبر رجل دفن في الجاهلية فقال رسول الله ﷺ لولا أن لا تدافنوا لدعوت الله عز وجل أن يسمعكم عذاب القبر
