Ali was asked whether the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had declared Medina a sanctuary. He replied, "Yes, it is sacred. Allah and His Messenger have made it inviolable. Its fresh herbage is not to be cut. Whoever does so, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all of mankind."
حدثنا يزيد بن هارون أنبأنا عاصم
أحرم رسول الله ﷺ المدينة قال نعم هي حرام حرمها الله ورسوله لا يختلى خلاها فمن فعل ذلك فعليه لعنة الله والملائكة والناس أجمعين
