The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would pass by a date lying on the ground, and nothing prevented him from picking it up except the fear that it might be from charity.

أن رسول الله ﷺ كان يمر بالتمرة فما يمنعه من أخذها إلا مخافة أن تكون صدقة
