A bedouin came to the Prophet ﷺ and asked, "When is the Hour?"The Prophet ﷺ replied, "Woe to you, what have you prepared for the Hour?"The man said, "I have not prepared anything for it, except that I love Allah and His Messenger."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Then you will be with those whom you love."His companions asked, "And we too?"He answered, "Yes, you too."They rejoiced greatly that day.Then a young servant of Mughirah bin Shuba passed by. Anas said, he was about my age. The Prophet ﷺ said, "If this boy is granted a long life, he will not reach old age before the Hour comes."Affan said, "We rejoiced greatly that day because of this."
حدثنا بهز وحدثنا عفان قالا أنبأنا همام قال عفان حدثنا وقال بهز أخبرنا قتادة
أن رجلا من أهل البادية أتى النبي ﷺ فقال متى الساعة قال ويلك وما أعددت للساعة قال ما أعددت لها شيئا إلا أني أحب الله ورسوله قال قال النبي ﷺ فإنك مع من أحببت قال قال أصحابه نحن كذلك قال نعم وأنتم كذلك قال ففرحوا يومئذ فرحا شديدا قال فمر غلام للمغيرة بن شعبة قال أنس وكان من أقراني قال النبي ﷺ إن يؤخر هذا فلن يدركه الهرم حتى تقوم الساعة وقال عفان ففرحنا به يومئذ فرحا شديدا
