Harith bin Suwayd reported,

Someone said to Ali , "Did your Messenger single you out with anything not given to people in general?"He replied, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not single us out with anything that he did not give to people in general, except for something in the sheath of this sword of mine."Then he produced a document containing some rulings about the ages of camels for blood-money, and in it was written, "Madinah is a sanctuary from Mount Thawr to Mount Air. Whoever introduces a heresy in it or shelters one who has done so, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all people. No obligatory worship nor voluntary deed will be accepted from him on the Day of Resurrection. The protection granted by the Muslims is one, even the least of them may extend it. Whoever betrays a Muslim's pledge of protection, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all people, and no obligatory worship nor voluntary deed will be accepted from him on the Day of Resurrection. Whoever takes a freed slave as his patron without the permission of his rightful patrons, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all people, and no obligatory worship nor voluntary deed will be accepted from him on the Day of Resurrection."

عن الحارث بن سويد قال

قيل لعلي رضي الله عنه إن رسولكم كان يخصكم بشيء دون الناس عامة قال ما خصنا رسول الله ﷺ بشيء لم يخص به الناس إلا بشيء في قراب سيفي هذا فأخرج صحيفة فيها شيء من أسنان الإبل وفيها أن المدينة حرم من بين ثور إلى عائر من أحدث فيها حدثا أو آوى محدثا فإن عليه لعنة الله والملائكة والناس أجمعين لا يقبل منه يوم القيامة صرف ولا عدل وذمة المسلمين واحدة فمن أخفر مسلما فعليه لعنة الله والملائكة والناس أجمعين لا يقبل منه يوم القيامة صرف ولا عدل ومن تولى مولى بغير إذنهم فعليه لعنة الله والملائكة والناس أجمعين لا يقبل منه يوم القيامة صرف ولا عدل
