A funeral procession passed by, and the people praised the deceased with good words. He said, "It has been confirmed."Then another funeral procession passed by, and they spoke ill of the deceased. He said, "It has been confirmed."They asked, "You said about this one, 'It has been confirmed,' and about that one, 'It has been confirmed'?"He replied, "It is the testimony of the people, and the believers are Allah's witnesses on earth."
حدثنا يونس بن محمد حدثنا حماد يعني ابن زيد عن ثابت
مر بجنازة فأثنى القوم خيرا فقال وجبت ثم مر بجنازة أخرى فأثني عليها شرا فقال وجبت فقالوا قلت لهذا وجبت ولهذا وجبت قال شهادة القوم والمؤمنون شهداء الله في الأرض
