The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The most merciful of my nation is Abu Bakr, the firmest in the religion of Allah is Umar, the most truthful in modesty is Uthman, the most knowledgeable of the lawful and unlawful is Muaz bin Jabal, the best reciter of the Book of Allah is Ubayy, and the most knowledgeable in the laws of inheritance is Zayd bin Thabit. Every nation has a trustworthy one, and the trustworthy one of this nation is Abu Ubayda bin Jarra."
حدثنا وكيع عن سفيان عن خالد الحذاء عن أبي قلابة
قال رسول الله ﷺ أرحم أمتي أبو بكر وأشدها في دين الله عمر وأصدقها حياء عثمان وأعلمها بالحلال والحرام معاذ بن جبل وأقرؤها لكتاب الله أبي وأعلمها بالفرائض زيد بن ثابت ولكل أمة أمين وأمين هذه الأمة أبو عبيدة بن الجراح
Its isnad is sahih. Khalid is Ibn Mihran, and Abu Qilaba is Abdullah bin Zayd Jarmi. The hadith was narrated by Tirmidhi, 5/664, no. 3790, where he said, the well-known version is the hadith of Abu Qilaba, in the Book of Merits, the merits of Muaz, and by Ibn Majah, 1/55, no. 154, in the introduction, and by Abdul-Razzaq, 11/225, no. 20387, and Tayalisi, 2520 Minha, and Ibn Abu Asim in Sunnah, 2/582, and Tabarani in Saghir, 1/201, and Ibn Hibban, 2218 Mawarid, and Bayhaqi, 6/210.
