We were in the house of one of the Ansar when the Prophet ﷺ came and stood at the door. Taking hold of its frame, he said, "The leaders are from Quraysh, and they have a right over you, just as you have the same right over them. When they are asked for mercy, they show mercy. When they judge, they judge justly. When they make a pledge, they fulfill it. Whoever among them does not do this, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all people."
حدثنا وكيع حدثنا الأعمش عن سهل أبي الأسد عن بكير الجزري
كنا في بيت رجل من الأنصار فجاء النبي ﷺ حتى وقف فأخذ بعضادة الباب فقال الأئمة من قريش ولهم عليكم حق ولكم مثل ذلك ما إذا استرحموا رحموا وإذا حكموا عدلوا وإذا عاهدوا وفوا فمن لم يفعل ذلك منهم فعليه لعنة الله والملائكة والناس أجمعين
