Anas was asked whether the Prophet ﷺ had taken a ring. He said, "Yes. One night he delayed the evening prayer until halfway through the night, then he said, 'The people have prayed and gone to sleep, but you have remained in prayer as long as you waited for it.' It is as if I am still looking at the gleam of his ring."

سئل أنس هل اتخذ النبي ﷺ خاتما قال نعم أخر العشاء ليلة إلى شطر الليل فقال إن الناس قد صلوا ورقدوا وإنكم لم تزالوا في صلاة ما انتظرتموها فكأني أنظر إلى وبيص خاتمه
Its isnad is sahih. The hadith appears in Muslim with its exact wording, 1/443, no. 640, in the Book of Mosques, chapter on the time of Isha and delaying it. Nasai has it likewise, 1/268, in the Book of Prayer, with similar wording. Bukhari has it with a similar meaning, 1/155, Shab edition, in the Book of Prayer, chapter on staying up at night discussing jurisprudence and good matters, from Anas, but without mentioning the gleam. Abu Dawud has it similarly, 1/113, no. 422, in the Book of Prayer, chapter on the time of Isha.
