A funeral procession passed by the Prophet ﷺ, and the people spoke well of the deceased, with tongues following one another in praise. The Prophet ﷺ said, "It has become certain."Then another funeral procession passed, and the people spoke ill of the deceased, with tongues following one another in condemnation. The Prophet ﷺ said, "It has become certain. You are Allah's witnesses on earth."
حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد عن حميد
أن جنازة مرت بالنبي ﷺ فقيل لها خيرا وتتابعت الألسن لها بالخير فقال النبي ﷺ وجبت ثم مرت جنازة أخرى فقالوا لها شرا وتتابعت الألسن لها بالشر فقال النبي ﷺ وجبت أنتم شهداء الله في الأرض
