Anas bin Malik reported,

The Prophet ﷺ was wounded on the day of Uhud and his front tooth was broken. He began wiping the blood from his face, saying, "How can a people prosper when they have stained the face of their Prophet with blood while he calls them to their Lord عز وجل?"Then was revealed, "Not for you, [O Muhammad, but for Allah], is the decision whether He should [cut them down] or forgive them or punish them, for indeed, they are wrongdoers" [Al Imran 3:128].

عن أنس

أن النبي ﷺ شج يوم أحد وكسروا رباعيته فجعل يمسح الدم عن وجهه وهو يقول كيف يفلح قوم خضبوا وجه نبيهم بالدم وهو يدعوهم إلى ربهم عز وجل فأنزلت {ليس لك من الأمر شيء أو يتوب عليهم أو يعذبهم فإنهم ظالمون}
