Zubayr bin Adi reported,

We complained to Anas bin Malik about what we were suffering at the hands of Hajjaj.He said, "Be patient, for no year, or no day, will come upon you except that the one after it will be worse, until you meet your Lord. I heard this from your Prophet ﷺ."

عن الزبير يعني ابن عدي قال

شكونا إلى أنس بن مالك ما نلقى من الحجاج فقال اصبروا فإنه لا يأتي عليكم عام أو يوم إلا الذي بعده شر منه حتى تلقوا ربكم عز وجل سمعته من نبيكم ﷺ
