A man called out to another man in the marketplace, saying, "Abu al-Qasim!" The Prophet ﷺ turned toward him.The man said, "I only meant this other man."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Name yourselves with my name, but do not use my kunya."
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر عن شعبة عن حميد قال سمعت
إن رجلا دعا رجلا في السوق فقال يا أبا القاسم فالتفت النبي ﷺ فقال الرجل إنما عنيت رجلا فقال رسول الله ﷺ سموا باسمي ولا تكنوا بكنيتي
